The possibilities of 3D printing are now extended to your face and a flower holder. Fahz is a new crowdfunded campaign that wants to put a silhouette of your face into the outline of a vase. The idea came into fruition when creators Nick Desbian used his background in architecture and computational design to create a one of a kind vase for Martha Desbien. The incredible vase was so popular with friends and family that Nick and Martha felt encouraged to begin producing the vases.
The resulting Kickstarter campaign has received an extraordinary amount of attention, with everyone wanting their in mug on a vase. This is done by converting a profile photo of someone into vector geometry. Using this outline and a computing system designed by Nick, the face becomes to the scaffolding for the vase. This design is then sent to a 3D printer to be printedin PLA plastic.
