Have you ever wished it was pouring rain outside? The skies an ominous grey, thunder and lightning cracking the skyline as raindrops pelt against the glass of your window? There is no denying that a clap of thunder and the ensuing rain is a reassuring remedy, carrying a nostalgic security that can’t quite be faked… Or can it?

New York based and New Zealand born Richard Clarkson has been busy at work trying to bring those feelings associated with rain to your finger tips with an interesting audio visual experience attached.

“The Cloud is an interactive lamp and speaker system, designed to mimic a thundercloud in both appearance and entertainment. Using motion sensors the cloud detects a user’s presence and creates a unique lightning and thunder show dictated by their movement. The system features a powerful speaker system from which the user can stream music via any Bluetooth compatible device,” describes Clarkson’s website.
