Quitting Your Day Job & Building a Business With Heart

Quitting Your Day Job & Building a Business With Heart

It’s Monday morning incase you had not noticed. And I am sure a few of our readers out there are suffering from some serious Mondayitis: a feeling of weariness, sadness, apathy and general distress that many individuals feel when starting the Monday morning work week (according to Urban Dictionary).

I recently came across this article on the 99% titled Steve Cober: On Quitting Your Day Job & Building a Business With Heart and thought it would be a perfect read on a Monday. It might just give you the motivation and inspiration you are seeking (plus his store Magic Pony is pretty neat!).

After losing his job due to a series of unfortunate events, Steve Cober made the decision to build his own company instead of  finding a company that would allow his creatively to grow.

It was one of those situations that I think every creatives feels, where you’re like, “I have all these great ideas, or I want to pitch these things and work with these people, but I can’t seem to push it through on any project with clients or even with my team.” My business partner, Kristin, was feeling the same way at the time…

He sat down with Jenn Godbout from Behance to answer questions such as So how do you stay organized and focused? What was that first year like, working without a plan?

Head hear for the full article.
