Recently we ran the Infographic: Mobile Payments and the future of money. It stated;

 ’17 million adults in the U.S are unbanked’ and ‘Nearly all of the worlds unbanked population lives in Africa, Asia and Latin America.’

Contributor Tarant Hill recently came across Who are the Unbanked? Uncovering The Financial Inclusion Gap.

The World Bank has created the Global Findex (at closer look, a project that is actually funded by The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation). The aim of the Findex is to measure the use of financial services and identify those with the greatest barrier to access.
