Song of the Spindle is an animation created by illustrator Drew Christie. It was created for the Possible Feature Film Festival and has many a valuable lessons.
A whale and a man begin to discuss the differences between the two species. The whale states that you cant possibly judge intelligence by technology alone (dont be so ignorant humans) and that humans can learn a lot from those creatures that live in the ocean. Not only are we both compassionate and understanding, but we share a liking for pitch, sound and song.
The whale begs to us to see that music can become our most powerful weapon. We humans would be more relaxed and at peace and as a result solve issues that plague the world now. We can begin a new consciousness and use it as a form of conflict resolution both at home and on a much wider scale. If we learn the song of the spindle we might just be able to save the world, one song at a time.
