On the 25th of November, Information is Beautiful researched the Swine Flu. We read with interest around the time Swine Flu hit in relation to the “impact on business” with articles as far fetched as small business going bankrupt due to the disease. SME’s were investing heaviliy into video’s, new health regulations with one firm in Sydney banned shaking hands for over 9 weeks. HR departments ran courses teaching about hygiene, distributing information about the pandemic, telling folks to stay home if they get sick — generally with pay — and scrapping the required doctor’s note. Some companies have even distributed “wellness kits” with thermometers and face masks.
We were not harmed and we still have not heard of any companies going “under” due to N1H1.
Information is Beautiful debriefs his readers on the detailed graph below.
Some frequent questions about the H1N1 Swine Flu vaccine answered as clearly and as visually as I could manage. A few people asked for this so I thought I would oblige. It was hell on earth to research. There’s a jungle of science around H1N1. Very hard to hack through. You can check all my sources here.
