Chasing Cars.

My daughter has recently developed a fascination for spotting things when we are in the car. An example. “Dad, see if you can find a green car”. Or the even harder version of see how “many” green cars you can find.

My first reaction is always a slight bout of depression followed by anxiety. What I find however is, that there is, in fact, a lot of green cars about. Same as yellow, red and any other colour we choose to find.

My point being, we notice clearly what we choose to notice.

As I work with a lot of eyewear brands, I notice eyewear. A point in particular is the Arnette brand, when I was managing that brand, it seemed to me that everyone was wearing them. When I left, it seem so did the consumers support for the brand however as we know, of course this was not the case. I just chose not to notice. (For the record, the brand is performing better than ever).

Here is an interesting game inspired by my daughter that you can play within your company and work mates. Try spotting great customer service. People or brands that go the extra distance or even more so, employees who go over and above expectations. You will notice a lot more than you imagine. Great service is everywhere. You will also start to see if your team is maintaining or hopefully outperforming that standard.

Try it, look for exceptional service and challenge your team to raise it.

In Miff’s game of finding cars… here are few that we haven’t found but waiting for. Enjoy.
